THE LUXURY RETURNS - JUNE 1st, 2012

Friends, it's been a while. The band returns to the stage Friday, June 1st at TT The Bear's Place in Cambridge, MA - where we played our first official gig. True to tradition and brotherhood we join our friends The Lights Out as they release their third full-length album, "On Fire". The show kicks off with Dirty Virgins and The Fatal Flaw, and The Luxury headlines at midnight. We'll be playing as many brand-new songs as possible, and perhaps a few classics if you're up for it. HALLOWEEN THIS YEAR: THE GO-GO'S (SOLD OUT AGAIN)

In what seems to be building into a tradition, The Luxury will perform as another band this year - having covered Def Leppard in '07 and Duran Duran in '09, the band turns their attention to US shores and 80's ladies in short skirts to take on the musical catalogue of The Go-Go's. This brilliant diversion will bring the band together with the likes of The Lights Out (as Madonna), Midatlantic (as Lady Gaga) and Hot Protestants (as Britney Spears). Saturday, October 30th at Church of Boston. Guys Doing Girls At Church. Tickets on sale soon - last year the show sold out by 9:30pm. Party of the season.

DRUMMER AUDITIONS NEARLY AT A CLOSE

We've had the distinct pleasure over the month of August to play with some very, very talented drummists, and tonight marks our final audition. If the first two are any indication, the decision will be nearly impossible, with the eventual selection being decided by multiple games of rock-paper-scissors or "which drummer smelled the most 'spring morning-fresh'". In short, we're mere days away from diving straight back into the stream of consciousness that is the construction of the next record. A good time to be one of us (inclusive).

THE LUXURY WINS NIGHT #1!!
Unexpected but awesome - we took our night in the WBCN Rumble 1st round - there is video of us performing the opening half of our set at bostonbandcrush.com and sooz.com. It was an absolute blast, and we were up against some dynamite bands. The week progresses and 5 more winners and 2 wildcards will emerge, so we hope to see you at the semis next week!

HERE WE GO - THE LUXURY IS IN THE RUMBLE, NEW CD THIS SUMMER
This is about as exciting a time as we've had - Boston's Rock giant WBCN holds the 31st annual Rock 'n' Roll Rumble this April, and The Luxury will go head to head with 23 other Boston bands - the best of the brightest - in a competition that brings out some of the best performances of the year, year after year. We'll post more info as it becomes available!

Also, the NEW ALBUM hits the planet this July with a huge blowout CD release at The Paradise - Boston's best venue without a bad seat in the house. The band will be putting up new tracks from the record, one per week, beginning in mid-April. Stay tuned and preview the new album as it comes to life.

The little record that could is making waves at college radio - debuting as the 13th most added disc in the country on April 16th, and officially landing in the CMJ top 200 at #152 as of May 1st.
